[3052] The government of Itabaiana had no forces to defend its planet, and so Clan Nova Cat took the world without a fight in January 3052. The brief ceremony held to transfer the reins of government to the Nova Cats gave the Clan unrestricted access to a resource-rich world that continues to produce a quantity of iron ore far greater than any similar world in Clan space. The 44th Nova Cat Cavaliers garrison this world to protect the Clan's new-found resources against any other Clan intent on grabbing the rich deposit of iron for itself.
[3059] During Operation Bulldog, a game of soccer decided possession of the Itabaiana. The Fifth Sun Zhang Cadre, under the colors of the SLDF, challenged the Forty-forth Nova Cat Cavaliers when they landed. Though the Nova Cats were more partial to lacrosse, they accepted the challenge anyway. It was a hard-fought contest, but led by their star player Sho-sa Matthew Dillahunty, the Fifth triumphed 5 - 3 after penalties.
